The first trip of the year, and you expect a few changes here and there, some to do with the seasons changing, some of a more man-made variety.

This baby clearly falls into the latter category, and I'm quite sure it wasn't there last year. Maybe we should get one.

Snow

I was concerned, given that it's only late April—and that this past winter saw a lot of snow, more than in recent years—that there might still be some of the white stuff lying around cramping my style.

This bit, and some remnants in the north-facing ditches, was about all the snow I found.
