Red squirrel

These guys are smaller but every bit as cheeky as the raccoon. I watched this fellow hurl nuts down to the ground from high up a tree, seemingly aiming at my head. Then he’d come down to gather them up and eat them more easily—the fall had cracked them open. Clever.
